RIGHT PROPER BO’!!!!
Teenage garage singer Dizzee Rascal has beaten off established bands such as Coldplay & Radiohead to become the youngest winner of one of Britain's most prestigious music awards.
Dizzee’s debut album Boy in da Corner, described by the judges as "rough, raw and compelling", grabbed the 2003 Mercury Music Prize, given to the most outstanding British or Irish album of the year from the worlds of pop and rock to jazz and classical music.
Last year's winner was North London rapper and garage singer Ms. Dynamite. Sales of her winning album A Little Deeper soared after she scooped the award.
Dizzee Rascal beat some highly-rated competition to take Tuesday's honour. Spandex-wearing rockers The Darkness had been favourites among many to win with their first album, "Permission to Land".
